I wonder what the answer from Apple’s SIRI will be. In the meantime and while SIRI is still processing my query, I came across with some thoughts on how I think we could make Enterprise Software better using SIRI.
SIRI is not only about a voice recognition, SIRI is Artificial Intelligence as you may already know. SIRI is a real game changer and let me tell you why. Currently I have seen some of the most “innovative” applications in Enterprise Software, I am not saying names of Companies but you know which ones may be ahead on the Mobile arena. One thing that I noticed those developing native apps for the most part using iOS, does any one knows an App Built in Android, other than the #1 SaaS vendor? well I haven’t. Maybe I need to see one of those, anyway the point is that after been an iPhone user of 4+ years is hard for me to get excited when I see a Mobile App on the iPhone or the iPad that only shows how to re-size a picture, play a video in YouTube and use the standard navigation (breadcrumbs) provided in the native iOS, sure some provides some cool charts geared towards executives. But I haven’t heard anyone talking about SIRI?
What are your thoughts on SIRI? Mine are, and once an API becomes available from Apple, I would think that future applications should look at SIRI as ways to improve the efficiency in your applications nowadays. Sure you may think that you have streamlined the navigation and UE, but does your applications responds to Artificial Intelligence commands?
What I would do is ask SIRI…
SIRI how are you doing? … Could I ask you…
Who are the Top Performers in my Organization?
Who needs Improvement?
What is the Turnover Ratio in my Organization?
What is my Vacation’s Balance?
Using commands as simple as the ones mentioned below, would really separate your Applications from the rest using Artificial Intelligence commands. This really would improve the Usability of your Mobiles Apps, no more dealing with dated navigation patterns. As to how to present the information to the end-user? Well for now look at the examples provided by Apple.
What is your Point of View?
Thanks
